Chris and Bren Murphy lived in Rome, Italy where, during the fall, farmers pulled up trucks loaded with Porcini mushrooms and wonderful dishes followed. Inspired by this memory, the Murphy's will prepare an autumn Italian menu on Saturday, November 7. Begin at 7p.m. with Prosecco and an array of antipasti. Follow with porcini mushroom risotto. Next, a hearty meat entre with roasted carrots, fennel and red onion. Italian reds accompany this meal. An arugula salad acts as the intermezzo and a peasant clove pear torte with vanilla gelato rounds out the menu. A fine compliment of freshly baked rustic bread and sparkling water accompany the meal.

Hosts: Chris and Bren Murphy, 2550 Marcy Ave., Evanston, 847-328-7124
